Aon has been appointed to provide benefits advice and consultancy services to the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston pension funds, which collectively manage over £1.4 billion in assets and serve approximately 30,000 members. The Sutton Fund, valued at £640 million, has 14,761 members, while the Kingston Fund, valued at £814 million, has 15,670 members. Both funds operate a shared service administration function, and Aon's role is to deliver tailored benefits consultancy advice under Lot 2 of the National Framework. The specific challenge faced by the Sutton and Kingston funds was the need for expert guidance during a period of significant changes in the Local Government Pension Scheme. Aon’s public sector benefits and governance team, led by senior consultant Daniel Kanaris, focused on understanding the unique requirements of both funds. The solution involved assembling a dedicated team to ensure high-quality service delivery to the funds’ members and stakeholders, thereby enhancing the governance and operational efficiency of the pension schemes. As a result of Aon's involvement, the funds are expected to benefit from improved member services and enhanced compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, ultimately supporting their commitment to providing secure and effective pension benefits to all members.
