Full Credential Description

A recent project undertaken by Aon for a large US multinational client aimed to identify the most effective interventions across human capital and wellbeing to drive business performance. The client faced challenges in understanding which wellbeing initiatives were yielding the best results, particularly in light of rising healthcare costs and employee stress levels. To address these issues, Aon utilized advanced analytics to analyze data from the client's Employee Assistance Program (EAP), retirement and healthcare plans, and pay structures. The approach involved integrating 29 different data sources to create a comprehensive analytics model. This model revealed critical connections between health, health risk factors, wellbeing, performance, total compensation, and time away from work. The analysis indicated that most productivity drivers were health-related. Notably, eliminating one health risk factor—musculoskeletal diseases—for 30% of the workforce resulted in a significant productivity gain of $1.5 million, alongside an additional $1.3 million saved in healthcare claims. This case study underscores the importance of establishing clear goals and success metrics at the outset of wellbeing initiatives. By leveraging data to inform strategic objectives, the client was able to pinpoint which interventions were most effective, ultimately leading to enhanced productivity and reduced healthcare costs. The findings highlight the value of a data-driven approach in optimizing wellbeing investments and achieving measurable business outcomes.
