Aon
Full Credential Description
Aon, in collaboration with TELUS Health, conducted a comprehensive survey across 12 countries in Asia to assess workplace mental health, revealing significant challenges faced by employees. The survey indicated that 82 percent of workers in Asia are at moderate to high risk of developing mental health issues, with stress, anxiety, and burnout increasingly affecting productivity. Notably, 45 percent of respondents reported that their mental health negatively impacts their work, and 51 percent felt more sensitive to stress compared to the previous year. The findings highlighted critical barriers to accessing mental health support, with 43 percent of respondents citing cost as the primary obstacle. Additionally, a lack of information about available resources and the stigma surrounding mental health issues further hindered employees from seeking help. The report emphasized that organizations failing to address these mental health challenges could face significant costs in terms of decreased productivity and increased absenteeism. To combat these issues, Aon and TELUS Health recommend that organizations implement robust support structures for mental health, informed by data and insights. This approach is essential not only for enhancing employee wellbeing but also for maintaining high levels of engagement and productivity, ultimately delivering a measurable return on investment. The report serves as a call to action for businesses to prioritize mental health as a commercial imperative, rather than a mere benefit.
