Aon
Full Credential Description
Aon has made a significant commitment to addressing the unique insurance and risk management needs of Indigenous communities in Canada through its Indigenous Services Group, led by Angela Ferguson. For over 30 years, Aon has tailored its offerings to meet the specific challenges faced by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. The primary issues these communities encounter include a lack of access to affordable insurance, inadequate risk evaluation, and the need for specialized coverage that reflects their unique circumstances. To address these challenges, Aon developed the NationsPLUS program, which provides broad and customized insurance coverage specifically designed for Indigenous governments, communities, and economic development corporations. This program not only offers competitive pricing but also includes risk identification and strategic advice for loss prevention, ensuring long-term rate and coverage stability. The NationsPLUS program encompasses various products, including accidental death and dismemberment coverage, aviation insurance, and a community assets and risk management program that offers limits and coverages broader than those typically available in the traditional marketplace. The results of implementing the NationsPLUS program have been substantial. Aon has successfully supported over 400 clients across Canada, enhancing their buying power and providing them with tailored solutions that address their specific risks. This initiative has led to improved access to insurance at lower costs, allowing Indigenous communities to better manage their risks and protect their assets. By focusing on the unique needs of these communities, Aon has established itself as a leader in providing specialized insurance solutions that foster economic development and stability within Indigenous populations.
