Full Credential Description
Tahir Çelik, the founder of Mavi Fruits Blueberry Organic Farming in Turkey, faced a significant challenge in diversifying agricultural production in a region predominantly known for tea cultivation. Recognizing the growing popularity of blueberries and their potential for higher economic returns, Çelik sought to invest in blueberry farming in the Black Sea region, which he identified as suitable for producing high-quality blueberries.
To support his venture, Çelik utilized the Greater Anatolia Guarantee Facility (GAGF), which provided him with a guarantee for a loan of TRY 148,500 (approximately 49,000). This funding was crucial for investing in a cold storage system, ensuring that the delicate blueberries could be transported to consumers under optimal conditions. This investment not only enhanced the quality and safety of the product but also positioned Mavi Fruits to meet the increasing demand for blueberries in Turkey.
Looking ahead, Çelik aims to expand his business further by conducting research and development activities to explore the use of blueberries in pharmaceuticals, indicating a strategic vision for growth and innovation in his industry.
