Jose Luis Cuenca, from San Martin de Valdeiglesias near Madrid, faced significant challenges in his career transition. After working in various fields including gardening, plumbing, and a call center, he found himself dissatisfied with his job, particularly due to the stress of handling customer complaints. Seeking a more fulfilling career, he decided to pursue a university degree in computer engineering while simultaneously attending a bootcamp focused on big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

To finance his education and training, Jose Luis entered into an income-sharing agreement with the Universia Foundation (part of the Santander Group), which was backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) through the Skills & Education Guarantee Pilot. This arrangement allowed him to attend the Keepcoding Tech School without the burden of upfront tuition costs, as he would only begin repaying once he secured a job with a salary above a certain threshold.

Within a few months of starting the bootcamp, Jose Luis secured an internship that evolved into a permanent position, marking a successful transition into the IT sector. He expressed satisfaction with his new career path, stating that he was much happier compared to his previous job. As he nears the completion of his bootcamp and degree, he anticipates a more balanced life and is considering further educational opportunities in full-stack web development and IT engineering. This tailored support not only facilitated his education but also significantly improved his job satisfaction and career prospects.
