Full Credential Description
Bedtime Digital Games, a video game company founded by Klaus Pedersen and a group of fellow students, faced significant challenges in securing financing for their creative project. Initially, they developed a game inspired by Disney movies and surrealist art, which required extensive development before any potential return on investment could be realized. This lengthy development phase made it notoriously difficult for them to obtain funding, as traditional financing avenues often overlook the unique needs of creative sectors.
To address these challenges, Bedtime Digital Games secured an EU-guaranteed loan from Vaekstfonden, backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the Investment Plan for Europe. This tailored financial solution provided the necessary cash flow to support their growth and development efforts. The loan allowed them to accelerate their project significantly, enabling them to transition from part-time work to full-time commitment on the game.
As a result of this financial support, Bedtime Digital Games was able to expand its team from 13 to 20 employees in 2020, demonstrating a clear trajectory of growth. The funding not only facilitated the development of their game but also helped them maintain a balance between work and personal life, allowing the team to focus on their passion for creating engaging and family-friendly gaming experiences.
