In the case of Le Tate Matte, an educational initiative in Parma, Italy, the founders faced significant financial barriers when they decided to expand their operations. Established in 2009 by three experienced kindergarten teachers, Simona, Nicoletta, and Elisa, the project initially started as a baby parking service for children. However, as demand grew, they needed to renovate their facility to accommodate more children and enhance the learning environment. The challenges included the high costs associated with renovating the space, purchasing new educational materials, and ensuring a safe and pleasant atmosphere for the children.
To address these challenges, the founders secured an EU-guaranteed loan through Credito Emiliano (CREDEM), supported by the Investment Plan for Europe. This financial backing enabled them to renovate their 600m² facility, which now hosts 46 children aged between 3 months and 6 years. The renovations included painting, flooring updates, and acquiring new toys, which were essential for creating a conducive learning environment.
As a result of this tailored financial solution, Le Tate Matte not only improved its physical space but also expanded its educational offerings. The kindergarten now incorporates a blend of traditional pedagogical methods with innovative activities inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches. They provide diverse experiences such as swimming classes, mini circus workshops, and pet therapy sessions, fostering a strong connection between children, educators, and parents. The founders are now considering further expansion to include two distinct areas for daycare and kindergarten, reflecting their commitment to enhancing educational experiences for young children in their community.
