Evaneos, a travel marketplace based in France, faced the challenge of navigating a market saturated with intermediaries in the travel industry. The company aimed to provide a more direct connection between travelers and local travel agents, allowing for fully customized travel experiences. CEO Eric La Bonnardière noted that the traditional model involved too many middlemen, which often led to higher costs and less personalized service for consumers.

To address these niche issues, Evaneos sought investment to facilitate its international expansion. With the support of Serena Capital, an investment fund backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF), Evaneos was able to launch marketing campaigns and expand its operations into new European markets, including Sweden, the Netherlands, and Norway. This capital injection allowed the company to double its staff from 70 to 140 employees within 18 months, significantly enhancing its operational capacity.

As a result of these strategic initiatives, Evaneos successfully enabled over 160,000 travelers to embark on tailor-made holidays across more than 160 destinations, achieving a remarkable customer satisfaction rate of 96%. The company’s innovative approach not only transformed the travel booking experience but also positioned it for future growth, with plans to break into the US market next.
