The European Investment Fund (EIF) and BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions have entered into a significant agreement to provide a portfolio guarantee of up to €200 million, specifically aimed at enhancing access to business asset leasing solutions for SMEs and small mid-caps in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. This initiative, supported by the InvestEU programme, is designed to drive investments in projects focused on climate change mitigation and sustainability, marking the EIF’s largest multi-country guarantee to date.

The tailored solution addresses the specific challenges faced by SMEs and small mid-caps in accessing financing for sustainable projects. By providing financial support for investments in sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, green technologies, and renewable energy projects, the partnership aims to accelerate economic development while promoting environmental sustainability. This strategic collaboration is expected to inject over €200 million in new financing, thereby enhancing innovation and competitiveness among European SMEs and supporting their transition to low-carbon business models.
