Investment & Fund Management
European Investment Fund Partner
Full Credential Description
Finnish companies are set to receive over 400 million in financing for energy upgrades through a partnership between Nordea Bank and the European Investment Fund (EIF). This initiative, backed by the InvestEU program, aims to provide favorable financing options for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small Mid-Caps in Finland, facilitating their transition to clean power and energy efficiency. The financing, projected to reach up to 437 million, will support investments in sustainable technologies such as solar panels, electric vehicles, and energy-efficient solutions.
The EIF is providing guarantees that will enable Nordea to offer reduced interest rates, making it easier for Finnish businesses to access the necessary funds for their green initiatives. The partnership is designed to enhance the financial support available to SMEs, allowing them to grow while contributing to Finland's green transition. Specifically, the EIF's Sustainability guarantee promotes environmentally friendly investments, while the Innovation guarantee focuses on enhancing access to finance for companies engaged in research and innovation, particularly in adopting digital technologies.
This collaboration not only aims to boost the competitiveness of Finnish businesses in an environmentally conscious market but also aligns with broader EU policy objectives, including the European Green Deal and the digital transition. The partnership is expected to play a significant role in shaping Finland's economic future by facilitating substantial investments in sustainable development.
