Full Credential Description

The European Investment Fund (EIF) has made a significant investment of €75 million under InvestEU in Zencap European Sustainable Transition II (ZEST II), a private debt fund focused on mezzanine financing for energy transition projects across Europe. This investment is part of a broader effort to mobilize private investments in the green economy, aligning with the objectives of the European Green Deal. ZEST II successfully closed at €255 million, surpassing its initial hard cap of €250 million, which will enhance its capacity to finance a diverse portfolio of impactful green projects.

ZEST II aims to support renewable energy and infrastructure projects that contribute to the EU’s climate goals, specifically targeting medium-sized assets and initiatives in wind, solar, biogas, and energy storage. The commitment from EIF not only reinforces support for sustainable infrastructure but also catalyzes additional investments essential for achieving the EU’s climate targets. The leadership at Zencap expressed that this closing strengthens their ability to finance critical projects that will help reduce carbon emissions across Europe, thereby delivering sustainable benefits.
