Danish SMEs and Mid-Caps faced challenges in securing

Full Credential Description

Danish SMEs and Mid-Caps faced challenges in securing funding for green investments, which are crucial for their transition towards sustainability and competitiveness. To address this issue, the European Investment Fund (EIF) and Ringkjøbing Landbobank entered into a guarantee agreement that enables up to DKK 320 million in new green investments. This initiative is part of the European Commission’s InvestEU program, aimed at facilitating climate change mitigation and sustainability projects, particularly in renewable energy sectors such as wind and solar power.

The tailored solution provided through this guarantee agreement is designed to improve access to finance for small companies looking to invest in green initiatives. It not only supports their transition to more sustainable practices but also enhances their productivity and competitiveness in the market. The EIF's Chief Executive, Marjut Falkstedt, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in strengthening the bank's market position and supporting its customers' competitiveness through financing new investments.

As a result of this partnership, Ringkjøbing Landbobank is expected to play a pivotal role in channeling these funds to eligible Danish SMEs and Mid-Caps, thereby fostering a significant increase in green investments that align with EU policy priorities, including the European Green Deal. This agreement marks a strategic move to mobilize additional investments and support the broader goals of sustainability and economic growth within the region.
