Full Credential Description
Slovenia has joined a European initiative aimed at bolstering trade with Ukraine by participating in the InvestEU Ukraine Export Credit Guarantee Facility. This initiative, which includes nine other EU countries, is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Caps exporting to Ukraine, particularly in light of the ongoing economic challenges posed by the war. The Slovenian export credit agency, SID Banka, has committed to providing 24 million in guarantees as part of a total 300 million fund managed by the European Investment Fund (EIF).
The tailored solution offered through this facility aims to facilitate exports of essential goods and services to Ukraine, including machinery and construction materials, which are critical for the country's recovery and reconstruction efforts. By joining this initiative, SID Banka not only reinforces its commitment to supporting Slovenian exporters in challenging environments but also aims to strengthen economic ties with Ukraine, thereby opening new market opportunities for Slovenian companies.
The facility is expected to benefit over 550 EU exporters, providing them with the necessary backing to maintain and expand their trade relationships with Ukraine. This strategic move is seen as a significant step towards integrating Ukraine into the European single market and supporting its aspirations for EU membership. The initiative has already generated substantial interest from EU businesses, ensuring that the full 300 million in EIF backing is utilized to support ongoing and new trade ties with Ukraine.
