The European Investment Fund (EIF) has made a significant investment of €25 million in the Together fund (TGT), a French initiative aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small mid-caps in the audiovisual sector. This fund, which has a target size of €100 million, is designed to address the unique challenges faced by independent production companies in Europe, particularly in the context of a market increasingly dominated by integrated audiovisual groups.

TGT is strategically positioned to provide essential financial support to independent producers, enabling them to scale their operations and enhance their market presence while retaining control over their intellectual property. The fund focuses primarily on scripted content, ensuring that European producers can continue to create high-quality narratives with global appeal. A key aspect of TGT's approach is its role as a minority shareholder, which allows producers to maintain their independence while benefiting from the financial backing necessary for sustainable growth.

The EIF's investment is part of the broader MediaInvest programme under InvestEU, which aims to mobilize private investments and support a total of €400 million in the audiovisual sector from 2022 to 2027. This initiative is crucial for addressing the financing obstacles that cultural and creative sectors often encounter. By supporting TGT, the EIF not only facilitates access to capital for independent producers but also contributes to the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of Europe’s cultural industries. The fund is expected to attract additional financial backers, further enhancing its capacity to support the growth of independent audiovisual content creators across the EU-27 and EFTA countries.
