Full Credential Description

The European Investment Fund (EIF) has made a significant commitment of €50 million to the Central and Eastern Europe Student Housing Fund, managed by 1 Asset Management. This initiative aims to address the pressing need for modern student accommodations in Central-Eastern Europe, specifically targeting Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. The EIF's investment, supported by the InvestEU programme, marks the first fund in its portfolio focused exclusively on social infrastructure in this region.

The CEE Student Housing Fund is set to finance the construction of new housing for up to 3,500 students over the next five years, with immediate investments already underway. The fund has secured a pipeline for projects that will accommodate 1,800 students in major Polish cities, including Warsaw, Wroc?aw, and Gda?sk, with four buildings scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2027. This strategic investment not only aims to enhance the living standards for students but also responds to the high demand for modern living spaces, as many existing public dormitories are outdated.

1 Asset Management views the EIF's involvement as a vote of confidence in their strategy for student housing projects. The company has already financed housing for over 1,500 students in cities like Vilnius, Kaunas, Riga, and Kraków, and is prioritizing expansion in Poland, where the student population is approximately 1.2 million. The partnership with EIF is expected to transform the regional student housing infrastructure, addressing the significant gap between demand and supply in the market.
