SunRoof, a Stockholm-based company, is revolutionizing the roofing industry by integrating solar technology directly into roof structures. With the support of an equity investment from the World Fund, a German venture capital firm backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the InvestEU programme, SunRoof has experienced significant growth. This investment has enabled the company to expand its reach and impact, allowing customers in Germany to achieve complete independence from the electricity grid for up to three months during the summer. The innovative roofing solution has also been adopted by a diverse range of clients, including a pig farmer, a church, and even a McDonald's, all benefiting from enhanced energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprints.

Looking ahead, SunRoof plans to further innovate by expanding into virtual power plants, which could enhance energy affordability and security across Europe. Additionally, the company is set to digitalize its operations with the launch of a customer-facing energy dashboard by the end of 2023, aiming to provide users with better insights into their energy consumption and production.
