Full Credential Description

In 2020, Questo, a travel platform based in Bucharest, Romania, faced the challenge of standing out in a crowded tourism market where traditional guided tours often led to a lack of exploration and engagement among travelers. Co-founder and CEO Alex Govoreanu recognized that future generations, particularly Millennials and Generation-Z, were drawn to gamification in their experiences. To address this, Questo developed a mobile app that transforms city exploration into interactive games, allowing users to embark on quests that blend fictional narratives with real-world locations and facts.

The tailored solution involved creating a platform where independent creators could design their own quests, fostering a community-driven approach to content generation. This not only provided users with flexibility—allowing them to explore at their own pace and on their own schedule—but also made the experience more affordable compared to traditional tours. The quests are designed to be engaging, with interesting facts and challenges that encourage sharing among friends.

As a result of this innovative approach, by December 2020, Questo surpassed 100,000 completed quests, demonstrating significant user engagement and satisfaction. The company also received an equity investment from Earlygame Ventures, backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF), which facilitated ongoing product development and refinement. With plans to expand from 100 to 200 cities, Questo is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for unique travel experiences in a post-pandemic world.
