Full Credential Description

Reform Furniture, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, faced the challenge of balancing affordability with style in the kitchen design market. Co-founders Michael Andersen and Jeppe Christensen aimed to provide stylish kitchen solutions without the high price tag typically associated with designer kitchens. Their innovative approach involved guiding customers through the process of purchasing an Ikea kitchen, stripping down the cabinets, and replacing the surfaces with luxury finishes. This model allowed them to deliver designer-quality kitchens at a fraction of the cost.

As the company grew, Reform Furniture encountered new challenges related to organizational and management issues, transitioning from a start-up to a larger business with 60 employees across five countries. To facilitate this growth, they sought financial support without diluting their ownership through equity financing. They opted for a loan, which provided the certainty they needed to invest in their expansion plans.

With an EU-guaranteed loan from Vaekstfonden, backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the Investment Plan for Europe, Reform Furniture was able to hire six additional employees and enhance their marketing and sales efforts. This strategic investment aimed to boost their presence in the US market, positioning the company for continued growth and success in the competitive interior design industry.
