Full Credential Description
IP Cleaning, a manufacturer of professional cleaning machines and equipment based in Italy, faced the challenge of enhancing its sustainability practices while maintaining growth in a competitive market. The company, which operates five production plants and distributes its products in over 100 countries, recognized the increasing importance of environmental sustainability in the cleaning industry. CEO Federico De Angelis emphasized the need to manage water and energy consumption, as well as the use of detergents and chemicals, to meet the evolving expectations of clients.
To address these challenges, IP Cleaning implemented innovative technologies that significantly reduced energy and water usage. In 2016, the company estimated that its technologies saved energy equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 360,000 refrigerators and conserved enough water to meet the needs of 180,000 families. Additionally, the introduction of the Black is Green product line, made from 75% recyclable plastics, further underscored the company's commitment to sustainability.
The pivotal moment for IP Cleaning came in 2014 when it was acquired by Ambienta, a European private equity investment fund focused on environmentally driven companies. This partnership was not merely financial; Ambienta played a crucial role in the company's strategic repositioning and relaunch. They assisted in the internationalization process and the internal reorganization of departments, aligning them under a unified vision and brand identity. This collaboration enabled IP Cleaning to enhance its growth trajectory and expand its global presence.
By 2017, the company had grown to employ around 1,100 people and was sold to new investors, continuing its international expansion. De Angelis noted the essential nature of cleaning products, stating, People cant stop eating, drinking and cleaning. They simply cant do it. So we will always need cleaning, highlighting the ongoing demand for improved hygiene and quality of life through their products.
