In 2015, Kristina Brinck faced the challenge of launching an online platform, Modsvar, designed to allow small Danish designers to sell their products directly to consumers. The concept aimed to mitigate the risks of over-production by enabling designers to offer their goods in small quantities, while also providing customers with discounts of up to 35% as more products were purchased. However, Kristina was unable to leave her full-time job to pursue this venture due to financial constraints and was hesitant to accept investment offers that would require her to relinquish control over her project.

To overcome these obstacles, Kristina secured an EU-guaranteed loan facilitated by the Danish Growth Fund, Vækstfonden, and backed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the Investment Plan for Europe. This funding was crucial as it allowed her to quit her job and focus entirely on developing Modsvar without sacrificing ownership of her company. The loan enabled her to cover operational costs and plan for future expansion, including hiring additional staff to grow her business.

As a result of this tailored financial solution, Kristina was able to launch her platform successfully and maintain full control over her entrepreneurial vision, significantly accelerating her timeline to market.
