Collector Bank faced significant challenges in providing access to finance for Swedish SMEs, particularly start-ups, which often struggled to secure loans from major banks. The bank sought to enhance its lending capabilities and offer more favorable terms to these businesses, which are crucial for economic growth and job creation in Sweden.

To address this issue, Collector Bank entered into a partnership with the European Investment Fund (EIF) under the COSME Loan Guarantee Facility. This collaboration allowed Collector Bank to receive a guarantee of SEK 500 million, enabling it to issue new loans totaling up to SEK 1 billion with more favorable conditions, including the elimination of collateral requirements. This tailored solution was designed to specifically target the financing gap faced by SMEs in Sweden.

As a result of this initiative, Collector Bank was able to significantly increase its lending capacity, providing essential financial support to small businesses that were previously underserved. The partnership not only strengthened Collector Bank's offerings but also contributed to the broader goal of enhancing access to finance for SMEs across Europe, ultimately supporting economic growth and job creation in the region.
