The European Investment Fund (EIF) and ?eskomoravská záru?ní a rozvojová banka, a.s. (CMZRB) signed a significant agreement under the COSME programme, aimed at enhancing access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech Republic. The specific challenge faced by CMZRB was the need to support local SMEs that had limited access to financing, which is crucial for their growth and job creation.
To address this issue, the EIF provided a counter-guarantee that enables CMZRB to support up to EUR 160 million (approximately CZK 4,400 million) in loans to SMEs over a period of two and a half years. This financial backing is part of the broader European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) initiative, which aims to stimulate investment and economic growth across Europe. The tailored solution allows CMZRB to offer additional financing at favorable conditions through its Programme Guarantee 2015-2023, targeting over 1,400 small enterprises.
As a result of this collaboration, CMZRB is positioned to significantly enhance its support for local businesses, facilitating their development and expansion. The agreement exemplifies the synergies between EFSI activities and national SME programs, ultimately contributing to job creation and economic development in the Czech Republic.
