The European Investment
Full Credential Description
The European Investment Fund (EIF) has partnered with Springrowth SGR SpA to invest 50 million in the Diversified Enterprises Credit Fund, which is aimed at supporting Italian SMEs through a strategy focused on risk mitigation and portfolio diversification. The fund, which has a fundraising target of 500 million, plans to originate at least 100 investments in medium to long-term loans and corporate bonds, including mini-bonds.
Springrowth's business model emphasizes collaboration with the banking sector and financial intermediaries while maintaining their independence. The EIF's involvement as a cornerstone investor is intended to enhance access to medium and long-term credit for SMEs, thereby benefiting the real economy. This initiative aligns with the EIF's mission to facilitate non-bank financing in Europe.
Massimo Di Carlo, CEO of Springrowth SGR, highlighted the fund's unique characteristics and rigorous investment process, which are designed to appeal to institutional investors seeking reliable credit exposure to high-quality Italian enterprises. The fund aims to improve the capital structure of leading SMEs, thereby strengthening their competitive positions in their respective markets. The fundraising process is currently underway, with expectations for the first closing to occur in the coming months.
