HydroGraph, a Canadian public company specializing in the production of graphene through explosion synthesis, faced the challenge of scaling their operations while maintaining high purity and low environmental impact. To address these niche issues, HydroGraph relocated to the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre (GEIC) in Greater Manchester in September 2023. This strategic move was aimed at enhancing their research and development capabilities and testing various applications for graphene.

As part of their collaboration with MIDAS, HydroGraph received tailored support that included assistance with recruitment agencies, networking opportunities, and public relations. This support facilitated a smooth transition into the Greater Manchester area, allowing HydroGraph to focus on their growth objectives. The relocation has already resulted in the creation of 10 new jobs, and the company has been recognized in the Autumn Statement as part of the Greater Manchester Investment Zone, highlighting its potential impact on the local economy.

Looking ahead, HydroGraph plans to establish a pilot production facility to manufacture graphene, further solidifying its position as a leader in the commercialization of graphene at scale. The combination of strategic location, support from MIDAS, and a clear growth plan positions HydroGraph for significant advancements in the graphene industry.
