Full Credential Description

In 2014, John Lewis, a prominent UK retailer, engaged Bioregional to conduct a strategic analysis and visioning exercise aimed at reducing its environmental impact by 2030. The challenge involved identifying ten key social, environmental, and economic trends that would influence John Lewis's operations, customer interactions, and product offerings in the future.

Bioregional's project, titled "Bringing the Future to Life," focused on exploring significant trends such as climate change, biodiversity loss, resource depletion, the evolving retail landscape, and technological advancements. The team utilized the latest scientific research and considered the current national and international legislative context to assess how these trends would affect the retailer.

The outcome of this initiative was the development of ten scenario maps that outlined a series of ambitious yet achievable visions for John Lewis. These visions were specifically designed to inform the long-term sustainability goals of the company's social responsibility and buying teams, ultimately guiding the retailer towards a more sustainable future.
