Point, a franchise operator with multiple locations across the UK, faced the challenge of expanding its customer base and achieving its ambitious goal of reaching 100 stores by 2026. To facilitate this growth, the company sought to acquire another franchise operator and required new bank debt to support the acquisition. FRPs Financial Advisory team was engaged by both Point and the lender to conduct a pre-lending review. This involved a thorough analysis of the historical and forecasted trading performance, net assets, and cash flows of both Point and the target franchise operator. The FRP team identified potential issues and key financial risks, providing critical insights that enabled the lender to make an informed decision regarding the funding. As a result of FRPs comprehensive review, the lender was able to offer Point a significant funding package, which ultimately led to the successful acquisition of the target franchise operator. This strategic move allowed Point to expand its footprint into London, opening nine new stores and bringing the company closer to its goal of 100 stores by 2026.
