Sustainability & Environmental Consulting
Bio Regional
Full Credential Description
At ecobuild 2018, Bioregional faced the challenge of engaging the built environment sector in meaningful discussions about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event aimed to explore how this sector could collectively contribute to achieving the SDGs, which were established by the UN to address global issues such as poverty and environmental sustainability. To tackle this challenge, Bioregional implemented a unique engagement strategy centered around a small lapel pin representing the SDGs.
The tailored solution involved encouraging attendees to make pledges regarding their organizations' commitments to the SDGs in exchange for the lapel pins. This approach not only incentivized participation but also served as a conversation starter. As a result, Bioregional successfully gathered over 100 pledges from a diverse range of businesses, including notable names like BRE, Rockwool, and Arup. The pins sparked interest and discussions, leading attendees to visit Bioregional's stall to learn more about the SDGs and to share their own organizational commitments.
The quantifiable outcome of this initiative was the significant number of pledges collected, which demonstrated a clear engagement from the built environment sector towards the SDGs. The lapel pins proved to be an effective tool for raising awareness and fostering dialogue, ultimately helping to mobilize action for sustainable development within the industry.
