Simplyhealth, a health plans provider in the UK, faced the challenge of expanding its sustainability efforts by creating an overarching strategy that would engage all its staff. To address this, we initiated the process by calculating Simplyhealth’s carbon footprint, which provided a clear understanding of its current environmental impact. This was complemented by a staff engagement survey aimed at assessing the existing level of sustainability awareness within the organization.

Our approach included a comprehensive sustainability gap analysis utilizing the One Planet Living framework, alongside in-depth assessments to identify how Simplyhealth could contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and anticipate future trends that might affect the company. We presented our findings to key team members, facilitating discussions on the priorities for their sustainability strategy.

As a result of our collaboration, Simplyhealth developed a final sustainability strategy structured around four key pillars, which now serves as a framework for their ambitions. By establishing a clear baseline, we enabled Simplyhealth to set specific sustainability targets and create a detailed action plan to track their progress effectively.
