Global law firm White Case LLP advised Montagu, a leading mid-market private equity firm, on the acquisition of IAI Group, Polands largest e-commerce SaaS platform. The acquisition involved a preliminary agreement to purchase IAI from MCI Capital ASI and the companys founders, Paweł Fornalski and Sebastian Muliński. This strategic move allows Montagu to expand its portfolio of digital infrastructure businesses across Europe, which includes notable companies such as Multifonds, Harvest, ITRS Group, and Wireless Logic. IAI Group, which operates under three brandsIdoSell, AtomStore, and Shoprenterserves approximately 7,000 stores in Poland and around 6,000 in Hungary. Additionally, IAI owns IdoPayments, a payment company recognized as a National Payment Institution by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. The transaction is pending customary , including approval from the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). This acquisition positions Montagu to leverage IAIs extensive market presence and technological capabilities in the rapidly growing digital retail sector, enhancing its competitive edge in the European market.
