Digital Transformation Consulting
Accenture
Full Credential Description
Accenture faced significant challenges in onboarding new employees and fostering a sense of community, particularly during the pandemic when traditional methods were disrupted. Prior to implementing their innovative solutions, a Gallup poll indicated that only 12% of employees had favorable experiences with job onboarding, highlighting a critical area for improvement in talent retention.
To address these issues, Accenture developed the Nth Floor, a virtual campus designed to enhance the onboarding experience and facilitate collaboration among employees. This immersive environment, known as One Accenture Park, allows new hires to connect with the company culture and build professional relationships in a more engaging manner. In its first year, over 150,000 new employees utilized the Nth Floor for their onboarding, significantly improving their initial experience at the company.
Additionally, Accenture leveraged the Nth Floor to host hundreds of community gatherings, creating immersive spaces where employees could connect and collaborate effectively. For instance, during an annual strategy meeting, a virtual lounge was created for managing directors across 25 countries, allowing them to engage in face-to-face interactions from their respective locations. This innovative approach not only enhanced communication but also fostered a deeper sense of connection among geographically distributed teams.
The results of these initiatives have been transformative, as Accenture continues to refine its use of extended reality (XR) technologies to create a cohesive and engaging workplace culture. By integrating these digital solutions, Accenture has positioned itself as a leader in the metaverse, effectively bridging the gap between physical and virtual experiences for its workforce.
