Full Credential Description

Like many other island nations, Tuvalu is threatened by rising sea levels, with projections indicating that it could be completely submerged in a matter of decades if current climate trends continue. In response to this urgent issue, Accenture collaborated with Tuvalu to craft a compelling narrative for the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27). This initiative was spearheaded by Simon Kofe, Tuvalu’s Minister for Justice, Communication and Foreign Affairs, who delivered a speech from a digital representation of Tuvalu. The aim was to highlight the nation’s plight and innovative plans while urging immediate action from global governments.

Accenture's solution involved the rapid development and production of a film and a dedicated website to support Kofe’s presentation at COP27. Remarkably, this project was completed in just six weeks, ensuring that Tuvalu's message was effectively communicated at a critical moment for climate action. The initiative not only showcased Tuvalu's challenges but also positioned the country as a pioneer in utilizing digital technology to advocate for environmental issues on a global stage.
